# MGS v1.6.1

MGS v1.6.1 brings in the Guardian 3.7.1 update, with rich text fields, configurable table columns, a more capable schema template system, IWA dMRV v3 support, and more resilient policy execution.

MGS v1.6.1 follows closely on v1.6.0 and brings in the Guardian 3.7.1 update, which lands a set of genuinely useful additions to schema authoring: a rich text field type, configurable table columns, and a much more capable schema template system. It also includes support for IWA dMRV v3, and a body of work that makes policy execution more resilient under load. Everything below is available now, with no action required on your side.

### Built on Open-Source Guardian 3.7.1

This release brings in the Guardian 3.7.1 update, covering 150 changes merged upstream since 3.7.0. Fifty three of those were authored by Climission.

### New Features & Enhancements

#### More Capable Schema Templates

The template system introduced in v1.6.0 has been considerably extended.

* **Preview a template before you apply it**, so you can see what a template will produce rather than applying it to find out.
* **More than one template can apply to a single policy**, which means a common structure and a methodology-specific one can be combined rather than merged by hand.
* **Template authors can highlight customizable areas**, marking which parts are intended to be adapted and which should stay as designed.
* **Template schema ordering** is now under the author's control.

#### New Field Types

* **Rich text fields.** Schema forms can now include formatted text, which suits guidance notes, narrative sections and any field where plain text was previously limiting.
* **Configurable table columns.** Table fields can now be configured column by column, so tabular data collection matches the shape the methodology actually asks for.

#### IWA dMRV v3 Support

MGS now supports the IWA dMRV v3 specification, including an upgrade path for existing schemas. This matters for interoperability with other systems built to the same standard.

#### Editing Repeatable Links

Repeatable field links, added in v1.6.0, can now be edited after they are created rather than only defined up front.

#### Formula Improvements

The formula editor gains path editing and clearer output, making it easier to trace how a calculation resolves.

### Reliability

A focused piece of work in this release makes policy execution more resilient when the platform is busy.

* **Policy actions now run exactly once.** Work is claimed before it is executed across the services that process policy steps, so a step cannot be picked up twice when the platform is under load.
* **Queued work survives a slow acknowledgment**, rather than being returned to the queue and repeated.
* **Remote actions keep flowing.** A listener following Hedera topics now continues cleanly past every message, so remote and external policy actions continue to arrive reliably.
* **AI-assisted suggestions** are available again across all environments.

### Improvements

* **Document validation is more precise.** Conditions now evaluate correctly when a document legitimately omits part of a schema, group restrictions behave correctly when no group is set, and source filters match values as they are actually stored.
* **Schema templates are safer to work with.** Applying and updating a template is recoverable, and cloning a template-bound policy either completes fully or not at all.
* **Co-owner invitations validate the email address** before the invitation is sent.
* **Log pages load faster** on tenants with large log volumes.
* **A cleaner profile setup experience**, with the onboarding wizard correctly positioned.
* **The Excel schema template now documents sub-schema fields**, so the guidance travels with the file.
