Update an Applied Schema Template

Update a draft policy from its applied schema template.

Update a draft policy after its template changes. See Schema Templates for how the comparison works.

Prerequisites

• You are signed in as a Standard Registry user.

• Your role carries permission to manage draft policies and schema templates.

• The policy is a draft with a schema template applied.

Steps

1. Open the draft policy with the applied template.

2. Select Update Schema Template.

3. Choose the template version to apply.

4. Review the comparison preview, which groups the differences by schema and by field.

5. Resolve any reported conflicts.

6. Confirm.

Result

The policy takes the selected template changes, and its stored snapshot and binding are updated.

Troubleshooting

Why does the update report a conflict? The policy and the selected template version both changed or deleted the same sub-schemas, and neither change can be applied safely on its own. In the comparison preview, choose which version to keep: keep the deleted schemas in the policy, or delete them. Resolve every conflict before confirming.
