Create a Schema Template
Create reusable schemas and restrictions for draft policies.
Prerequisites
You are signed in as a Standard Registry user.
Your role carries permission to manage schema templates, schemas, and draft policies.
A draft policy exists, if you intend to apply the template afterwards.
Steps
Open Schema Templates from the navigation.
The grid lists standalone schema templates and supports create, edit, import, export, publish, new version, delete, and filtering, in line with the other MGS grids.
Create a draft schema template.
The template gets its own Hedera topic and is stored independently of any policy.
Open the template editor.
From here you can change the template name and description, create schemas for the template, and open the template settings.
Create the template schemas.
Schemas created inside the template are saved as template schemas and given stable
templateSchemaIdandtemplateFieldIdvalues.Configure the restrictions:
Change schema settings, which locks the schema name, description, and entity type.
Can add custom fields, which controls whether a policy author may add fields of their own.
Can edit selected field, which controls whether an individual template field can be edited or removed. Template-owned fields are locked by default, so set this explicitly on any field a policy author should be able to change.
Result
You have a draft schema template carrying reusable schemas and restrictions, ready to apply to an eligible draft policy.
Troubleshooting
Why can't I edit a template field? The restriction locks that field. Change the restriction on the template before editing the field.
