Apply a Schema Template
Apply a reusable schema template to a draft policy.
Prerequisites
You are signed in as a Standard Registry user.
Your role carries permission to manage draft policies and schema templates.
The target policy is a draft with no template applied.
Steps
Open the Policies grid and find the target draft policy.
Select Apply Schema Template.
Choose the draft template, or a published template version.
Review the schemas and restrictions that will be copied into the policy.
Confirm.
Result
The policy receives copies of the template schemas and stores a snapshot and binding recording the template it came from.
Troubleshooting
Why is Apply Schema Template unavailable? The policy already has a template applied. Update the applied template instead, or detach it before applying a different one.
Why can't the policy be published? The policy is linked to a draft schema template. Publish the template first, or detach it from the policy.
Why are the controls on a locked field unavailable? The applied template locks that field. Change the field in the template, then apply the template update to the policy. Detaching the template removes all restrictions.
Why can't I add a field? The applied template disables custom fields for that schema. Enable Can add custom fields in the template and update the policy, or detach the template.
